A boutique hotel near the international airport in the Central Valley of Costa Rica, Hotel La Rosa de America, approached us for a completely custom and updated, mobile-friendly website along with a new, modern logo. An additional presenting challenge was creating a linked content management system in three languages: English, French and Spanish. The owners, Robert and Alexandra Hick, wanted a totally fresh and unique look, something that would stand out as a shining star in both design and function for this genre of hotels in Costa Rica.
After talking in depth with the owners we created a detailed design brief tailored to their specific tastes, target population and marketing goals. Based on this information, we presented an image-based design with a Latin flair, and freshened up the colors to a botanic green with touches of brown. The Hicks are unique in that they are actively involved in local philanthropy. To highlight this, we created a section for them to tell their story about why and to whom they give. They are also committed to an environmentally friendly lifestyle and business practices, and for many years have also owned an operated an organic, sustainable tree farm on the southern pacific coast of Costa Rica, which provides the wood for their furniture and new construction at the hotel. We felt it was important for them to tell their story, letting the public know what makes them and their hotel special and unique.
The result is a beautiful, fresh website that reflects the true beauty and uniqueness of Hotel La Rosa de America. The staff are able to make updates in three languages, and the new booking and availability calendar was integrated with an online calendar, easily accessed and managed by the team at the hotel. The new logo is clean and modern and blends seamlessly with the new website.
